This is long long long overdue!
My beloved darling's birth story :
18 Nov 11 5am : Mummy started having cramps. Mummy didn't noe its contraction pain cos i've never experienced it before.
18 Nov 11 8am : Reached gorgor's childcare (mindchamps) cos korkor is performing at his 1st concert! He's performing in 2 programs even! Woohooo.
18 Nov 11 9am : Cramps becoming more and more frequent. Maybe every 5-10 mins or so.
18 Nov 11 930am : Went to the toilet to check, it is showing. Hmmm meaning time to slowly proceed to the hospital?
18 Nov 11 10-1130am : Gorgor's concert. Cramps seems to become a lil more intense. So after his performance (without waiting for the whole concert to conclude), we rush back home to pack.
18 Nov 11 1230 : Reach home and started packing. Dilly-dallying and trying our best to comfort nat cos he was crying damn hard when he sees us leaving.
18 Nov 11 1-2pm : Reach office and went straight to the delivery ward to monitor the contractions. Dr Lee arrived and check the cervix opening. Only 0.5 or 1cm. Woah checking cervix hurts like hell!!! OMG i cannot even take this pain!!! Dr Lee looked at me and said gal ah if you cannot even stand this pain then u really may wan to consider epidural. Hiaz still long long way to go. He said he won't be giving me the induce med yet cos he wants me to go slow as he fear that by inducing too much my prev c-sec wound may tear so i will have to wait till tomorrow to see. Can't go home also cos already showing. Have to be transferred to the ward for monitoring.
18 Nov 11 6pm : Dr Lee came to check the cervix again. Still the same. Not much progress he said. Hmmm seems like i've to spend the nite in the ward.
18 Nov 11 9pm : NO progress. Spent the nite in the ward. Daddy could not stay with me cos its not a single ward. Trying my best to sleep but with contractions like that how to sleep?!
Throughout the day i bath a few times! Why? Because i duno when i will be push in to deliver so i wan to make sure i smell as best as possible haha. Daddy must have got used to it so he didn't question me much about it. Think i am too kiasu. And…..i make sure all my meals are complete. Won't wan to start all the hardwork with an empty stomach rite.
19 Nov 11 8am : Bath and had breakfast. Dr Lee arrived. He joked that every time he sees us, we are either eating or requesting for food hee. Checked cervix again. Hurt like hell again!!! They have to stuff the laughing gas at me to prevent from yelling. NO progress again! After 1 nite!
19 Nov 11 830am : Off to the delivery ward. Dr Lee gave me the induce med and ask me to monitor the contractions.
19 Nov 11 9 till 12 pm : Contractions seem to become slightly more intense. Was told to keep walking so that the dilation can speed up. So off i go walking to and fro in the delivery ward passing by all the delivery suites. Got too tired so went to nap for a while. Checked cerivx duno how many times again. Oh god this is too painful. So much more painful then my contractions for now. I have to keep breathing the laughing gas to relief the pain.
19 Nov 11 1pm : Midwife came. V jovial and friendly midwife. She checked the cerivx and Dr Lee came. Think 3cm dilation. They burst my water bag. Thankfully i have the laughing gas and i sort of KO when they do that. Else #$%^&*.
19 Nov 2-3pm : Contraction pain comes! Woah really painful How to tahan?! How can pple than without epidural? It is insane! Daddy kept saying "relax, dun think about it, relax, slowly breathe, think of other things etc" he even played all the soothing music for me but i simply cannot take the pain and started asking him to shut up. Finally decided. Its time. Time for epidural! Quick quick ask the doc to come!
19 Nov 3pm : Checked cervix again. 5cm this time! Doc not here yet. Where is my epidural!!!
19 Nov 4pm : The doc finally came. He was v busy and was held up in a operation. The moment i see him i felt so relief. He gave me the epidural. Woah! I had to take the laughing gas when they gave me the epidural even! Imagine. The midwife stuff it into my nose and held it there hard so that i will not feel pain and won't move while he gave me the epidural. After the whole ordeal, i told the doc "You are godsend"!!!! He smiled and ask me to jia you.
19 Nov 4-5 pm : I napped. Too tired already. Since no pain heehee. Checked cervix. 8 cm then 9 cm
19 Nov 6pm : 10cm! Practising the push!
19 Nov 18:17 : Pushed 3 times and Dr Lee decided to use the suction pump to pull baby out and tada!!! My lil one is out!!! My precious lil one!!! Place on my arms. But immediately they carried away to clean him. Daddy cut the umbilical cord too. Well done daddy.
So relief after that. Baby is good and well.
